Africa Community Projects (ACP) is an education and awareness non-profit organisation committed to the protection, care and early development of children, while creating learning and skills development opportunities for youth and unemployed adults.
Our journey began in 2001 with Mishelene’s Kiddy College, an informal home-based early childhood development facility, and led to the establishment of Africa Community Projects as an NPO in 2003.
Today, ACP Daycare provides early childhood development services, supported by ACP365 WILcare, Edutel and Edufarm initiatives, fostering a shared culture of “each one teaches one.”
Our Approach
Where Care, Learning and Opportunity Meet
ACP365 creates safe, inclusive environments where children are protected, cared for and supported through interactive learning. Our spaces are designed to nurture early childhood development while opening pathways to learning, skills development and opportunity for the wider community.
Through a combination of education, technology, storytelling and practical activities, we ensure learning is engaging, meaningful and accessible for children, students and unemployed adults alike.
At the heart of our approach is a shared learning culture built on the principle of “each one teaches one”, where knowledge, skills and experience are exchanged across generations to create practical, lasting impact within the community.

Our Story
Our journey began on 15 January 2001 with Mishelene’s Kiddy College, an informal home-based early childhood development facility. This initiative laid the foundation for Africa Community Projects (ACP), which was established as an education and awareness non-profit organisation in 2003.
Today, from the Belhar Multi-Purpose Centre, ACP continues this commitment through ACP Daycare, supported by ACP365 Edutel and Edufarm, creating opportunities for care, early childhood development, education and shared learning within the community.
The Challenge We’re Facing
Education Crisis
The 2021 Progress in Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) revealed that 81% of South African Grade 4 learners cannot read for meaning across all 11 official languages. Nearly 3% of 15-year-olds and 9% of 17-year-olds have dropped out of school.
Access & Facilities
Many families struggle to afford the low monthly fee, while others are unable to pay at all - limiting access for children in need. We also face challenges related to unapproved building plans for our leased municipal facility.
Safety Risks
Frequent break-ins, vandalism, and theft threaten the continuity of our programmes and place additional strain on already limited resources.
Funding Gaps
While the Department of Education subsidises eligible children, ACP365 relies on fundraising, limited donations, and community support to sustain and grow our impact.
Our Commitment
Despite these challenges, ACP365 remains committed to creating safe, supportive learning environments. We actively seek collaboration with universities, government departments, donors, corporate partners, and volunteers to strengthen and expand our programmes.
